Ranel
My name is Ranel. I was born in a small town in Northern Iraq. Currently I'm a second year graduate PhD student at the school of molecular sciences at Arizona State. My interests are in understanding the structural biology of photosynthetic complexes using tools such as Cryo-EM and Molecular Dynamics to elucidate structure/function relationships. Other potential avenues of my research include insights into light harvesting mechanisms via pigment networks, antennae protein association with photosystem I, and cyclic electron flow complexes under iron stress conditions. Aside from research, I enjoy chess, table tennis, and meeting people from different backgrounds during my free time.
