Najia
Najia works with structural biology and computational modeling. She graduated from the University of Dhaka, where her research focused on the physicochemical properties of carbon quantum dots under different perturbations. Co-advised by Prof. Petra Fromme, she now explores structural changes in protein complexes involved in photosynthesis combining both experimental and computational approaches. She has used crystallography at X-ray free electron lasers (XFELs) and cryo-EM to study these systems. In addition, she is working on modeling and studying the interactions in ESCRT (endosomal sorting complexes required for transport) proteins in plants which is a collaboration with Prof. Marisa Otegui from the University of Wisconsin, Madison..
