John Kevin (a.k.a “JK”) Cava is a Computer Science PhD student who joined Dr. Singharoy’s group in 2020 with interest in applying deep learning to applications with molecular biology. He is also co-advised in the ASU SCAI department by Dr. Ross Maciejewski. JK received his B.S in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Molecular Biosciences & Biotechnology from Arizona State University in 2018. In particular, JK is very interested in applying state of the art deep learning models, architectures, and paradigms such as generative models (GANs, Diffusion Models, Variational Autoencoders) with biophysical constraints and knowledge. JK’s work has been featured in various workshop venues such as in NeuRIPS and ICLR.
